Our Drinking Water Source
Our clean, high-quality drinking water comes from rainfall and snow in the mountainous areas called watersheds, north of the cities. The supply is pristine, natural and protected.
Watersheds & Reservoirs
Three watersheds provide our drinking water; Capilano and Seymour Watersheds on the North Shore, and Coquitlam Watershed in Coquitlam. We supply drinking water for nearly 2.5 million residents from these sources.
Taking Care of the Watersheds
The watersheds are protected from urban development, closed to public access and managed as natural assets of the highest importance to the region we live in. Protecting the source of our drinking water protects other natural assets.
Take a Tour of the Watersheds
We offer engaging and scenic guided tours of our protected watersheds to let you discover them first hand. Join us.
