The 2014 Progress Report on the 2011 Drinking Water Management Plan captures the current planning and management of Metro Vancouver’s drinking water resources. The plan uses an adaptive management approach, which includes progress reporting. This progress report looks at goals, strategies, actions, priorities and performance.
This report has been produced to meet the requirement for water suppliers to produce an annual report on water quality as per the BC Drinking Water Protection Regulation and as described in the Water Quality Monitoring and Reporting Plan (WQMRP).
Volume 2 of this report provides Chemical and Physical Monitoring results (the actual data) to meet the increased reporting requirements of the WQMRP.
This table captures the physical and chemical analysis of the Greater Vancouver Water District Water System for 2017.
When considering reintroducing salmon into the Coquitlam River System a key question is how this might impact the water quality from this source. This report summarizes a recent limnology (aquatic ecology) study. It concludes that 15,000 +/- sockeye salmon per year would be unlikely to impact the source water.
