What We Do
Metro Vancouver is responsible for providing a reliable supply of safe, high-quality drinking water to our member local governments. In turn, local governments distribute the water to residents and businesses.
The Regional System
Metro Vancouver uses a system of watersheds, dams, treatment facilities, reservoirs, pump stations and water mains to transmit water to local governments for distribution to residents and businesses.

The Drinking Water Management Plan sets the direction and priority for regional drinking water initiatives.

Regional Water Development Cost Charge
Metro Vancouver is pursuing legislative changes with the Province to enable development cost charges (DCCs) to be collected to pay for regional water infrastructure. Updates to this process, including draft rates and engagement events will be posted on the DCC project webpage.
