Amendment to Reflect Accepted Regional Context Statements
Greater Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No.1223, 2015. On October 30, 2015, the GVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future to incorporate changes stemming from eight Regional Context Statements (RCSs). Over the period from early 2014 to early 2015, the GVRD Board accepted seven RCSs (District of North Vancouver, Village of Anmore, City of Surrey, City of New Westminster, City of North Vancouver, District of West Vancouver, and City of Port Moody), and the Province adopted the RCS for the University of British Columbia Point Grey Campus (within the Electoral Area A).
The amendment includes revisions to regional land use designation boundaries, the addition of Frequent Transit Development Areas (FTDAs), and local centres. The proposed amendment also includes updates to the Metro 2040 Appendix A, Table A-1: Population, Dwelling Unit and Employment Projections for Metro Vancouver Subregions and Municipalities.

Greater Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1209, 2014. On May 15, 2015, the GVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future’s Regional Land Use Designation maps to redesignate portions of lands in the area called “Moody Centre Transit-Oriented Development Area and Murray Street Boulevard Area” from Industrial and Mixed Employment to General Urban and create a Frequent Transit Development Area for part of the area.

On June 27, 2014, the GVRD Board adopted a Type 2 amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future’s Regional Land Use Designation maps to redesignate portions of the area called “Southlands” from Agricultural to General Urban and extend to the Urban Containment Boundary to include these areas, and to redesignate portions of the site from Agricultural to Conservation and Recreation.

Greater Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1150, 2011
On October 28, 2011, the GVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future that:
- Redesignated a number of parks, riparian areas, and the Westwood Plateau Golf Course in the City of Coquitlam from General Urban to Conservation and Recreation;
- Redesignated the Terra Nova, Garden City and Department of National Defence lands in the City of Richmond from General Urban to Conservation and Recreation;
- Redesignated a portion of the Old Growth Conservancy in the District of West Vancouver from General Urban to Conservation and Recreation, and expand the Special Study Area in West Vancouver to include all lands above the 1,200 foot contour line; and,
- Amended the growth projections in Tsawwassen as requested by Tsawwassen First Nation.
