Metro Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1328, 2021.
On February 25, 2022, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to
Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future (Metro 2040), the regional growth strategy, for the South Campbell Heights area. The amendment changed the regional land use designations of approximately 228 hectares of Rural land to Mixed Employment, Conservation and Recreation, and Agricultural. It also redesignated approximately 13 hectares of land from Mixed Employment to Conservation and Recreation, extended the Urban Containment Boundary by approximately 223 hectares, and removed a Special Study Area overlay for this area.

On January 28, 2022, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to
Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future (Metro 2040), the regional growth strategy, for the subject property located at 228 175A Street. The amendment changed the regional land use designation of the subject property from Mixed Employment to General Urban to allow for the construction of new residential and commercial uses and an assisted living facility on the site.

On January 28, 2022, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to
Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future (Metro 2040), the regional growth strategy, for the subject property located at 5510 180 Street. The amendment changed the regional land use designation of the subject property from Industrial to Mixed Employment to allow for the construction of a new hospital and cancer centre on the site.

Amendment to Re-Designate Regional Parks Lands to a Conservation and Recreation Regional Land Use Designation
Metro Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1310, 2020.
On February 26, 2021, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to
Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future (Metro 2040), the regional growth strategy, to re-designate 61 property interests that have been acquired by Metro Vancouver Regional Parks from their previous regional land use designations of either Rural, General Urban, Industrial, or combination of them, to one of Conservation and Recreation. The amendment updates maps numbered 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 12 in
Metro 2040 to better reflect the current and intended long term use of the lands as regional park or a greenway. The amendment adds 128.3 hectares of land to the Conservation and Recreation regional land use designation.

Amendment to Introduce Revised Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Targets to Metro 2040
Metro Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1295, 2019.
On February 28, 2020, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to
Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future (Metro 2040), the regional growth strategy, to introduce revised greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets to reflect a commitment to be a carbon neutral region by 2050, and an interim target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 45% from 2010 levels by 2030. The amendment replaced the previous greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets contained in
Metro 2040 to be consistent with the
Climate 2050 Strategic Framework and with the IPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C.

Amendment to Reflect Accepted Regional Context Statements
Metro Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1285, 2019.
On October 4, 2019, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future (Metro 2040), the regional growth strategy, to incorporate changes stemming from two previously accepted Regional Context Statements (RCSs). Over the period from mid-2017 to early 2019, the MVRD Board accepted two updated RCSs that resulted in Metro 2040 mapping amendments in the Village of Anmore and City of New Westminster. In addition, over this same period, the City of Vancouver made several minor regional land use designation changes under the provisions of Section 6.2.7 of Metro 2040 that also resulted in Metro 2040 mapping amendments.
The amendment includes revisions to regional land use designation boundaries in the Cities of New Westminster and Vancouver, and the Village of Anmore; the addition of three new Frequent Transit Development Areas in New Westminster; and a change to the Urban Containment Boundary in Anmore.
City of Delta – MK Delta Land Use and Urban Containment Boundary Amendment
Metro Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1283, 2019.
On October 4, 2019, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 minor amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future for the subject property located at 7969 Highway 91 Connector, to change the regional land use designation of the subject property from ‘Agricultural’ to ‘Industrial’ and to include the subject property within the Urban Containment Boundary.
The MVRD Board received for information comments from affected local governments and agencies as presented in the report dated September 17, 2019 titled, "Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1283 – MK Delta Lands, City of Delta", and accepted the City of Delta’s amended Regional Context Statement showing the updated land use designation for the subject property and alteration of the Urban Containment Boundary.
Township of Langley – Williams Neighbourhood Plan Amendment
Metro Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1266, 2018.
On September 28, 2018, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 minor amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future to change the regional land use designation boundaries of the General Urban and Mixed Employment designations, resulting in the conversion of 2 hectares from General Urban to Mixed Employment, and 4 hectares from Mixed Employment to General Urban in the Township of Langley.
The MVRD Board received for information comments from the affected local governments and agencies as presented in the report dated September 14, 2018 titled " Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1266 – Williams Neighbourhood Plan, Township of Langley" and accepted the Township of Langley's amended regional context statement showing updated land use designations in the Williams Neighbourhood Plan area.
City of Port Moody Flavelle Mill (Mill and Timber) Site
Metro Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1259, 2018.
On May 25, 2018, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 minor amendment to
Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future to change the regional land use designation for the Flavelle Mill site (at 2450 Columbia Street) from Industrial to General Urban and to remove the regional Special Study Area overlay.
The MVRD Board received for information comments from the affected local governments and agencies as presented in the report dated May 9, 2018 titled "Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1259 - Flavelle Mill Site Port Moody - Comments from Affected Local Governments and Agencies" and accepted the City of Port Moody's amended Regional Context Statement showing updated land use designations for the Flavelle Mill site.
Updated Section G of Metro 2040 Performance Monitoring
Greater Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No.1243, 2017
Amendment to Metro 2040 Section G Performance Measures.
On July 28, 2017, the MVRD adopted a Type 3 minor amendment Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future to update Section G of Metro 2040 which outlines the performance measures that are monitored on an annual basis. The amendment reduces the number of performance measures included in Metro 2040 from 55 measures to 15 Key Summary Measures that best illustrate progress toward Metro 2040 strategies. The reduced number of measures facilitates simpler and more useful annual reporting.

Updated Housing Demand Estimates
Greater Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1237, 2016
On April 28, 2017, the MVRD adopted a Type 3 amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future to update the Housing Demand Estimates. The amendment updates Metro 2040's Appendix A, Table A.2 to provide updated figures on 10 year regional and municipal household growth projections by tenure. The figures are not targets to be met by municipalities, rather, they represent a range of potential dwelling unit demand that could be expected, based on past trends, and are intended to be used only as reference by municipalities in preparing municipal housing plans and policies.
Regional Sewerage Service Provisions
Greater Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No.1236, 2016. On April 28, 2017, the MVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future to update the policy provisions regarding the extension of regional sewerage services. The MVRD Board also adopted associated Implementation Guidelines. The amendment maintains the current strategy to not extend regional sewerage services into lands with a Rural, Agricultural or Conservation and Recreation regional land use designation, but revises and clarifies circumstances where potential exceptions to this strategy may be considered.
Township of Langley Latimer Area
Greater Vancouver Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Bylaw No. 1222, 2015. On September 18, 2015, the GVRD Board adopted a Type 3 amendment to Metro Vancouver 2040: Shaping our Future’s Regional Land Use Designation maps to redesignate two adjacent sites in the Latimer area, converting 1 hectare from Mixed Employment to General Urban on one site and 7.5 hectares from General Urban to Mixed Employment on the adjacent site.
