The Labour Relations bargains more than 60 collective agreements on behalf of its members. The negotiators in the Collective Bargaining Division work with staff from the member municipalities and other organizations to conclude agreements covering over 15,000 employees. With this large number of agreements there are often negotiations underway with various employee groups. To help keep interested parties up to date, there is a Bargaining status table below which provides access to collective agreements and provides a summary of current bargaining status.

Using the bargaining status table
Member Municipalities - The municipalities listed on this webpage are the only members of the function, but services are provided to various Boards and Commissions. These employers are listed beneath the municipality they are associated with by means of legislation and/or funding relationships.

Collective Agreements - Negotiations for all agreements covering the period from 2007 January 1 to 2011 December 31 are complete and signed copies of most collective agreements are available to be viewed and can be downloaded using Adobe Acrobat Reader. (In some cases the effective and expiry dates are 2007 January 1 to 2010 March 31; and in some cases the term extends beyond 2011; see specific agreements to view actual dates). Although all negotiations have been completed and Memoranda of Agreement have been ratified by the parties for these periods some of the renewal collective agreements have not been signed; as a result they have not been posted. Where this is the case the most recent signed agreement is available and there is a note that the renewal agreement is in draft only and not yet available.

The collective agreements on this page are for reference purposes only.  Although the text of the documents is identical to the official signed Collective Agreements, they may vary slightly in format or page numbering from the original signed copy of the collective agreement and there may be slight variations between the Table of Contents and the actual page numbers of various articles due the process of converting documents from Word to Adobe Acrobat format.   

Note: In all cases where "Notice to bargain not yet received" is noted, Notice is deemed to have been served 3 months prior to expiration (in most cases October 1, 2006) under the BC Labour Relations Code; however, there has not been any contact between the employer and the union regarding negotiations.
