<strong>Types of units:</strong> Homes will include a mix of sizes, including one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units.<br></li><li>
<strong>Sustainability:</strong> The building is designed to meet
<a href="https://energystepcode.ca/" target="_blank">BC Energy Code - Step 4</a> ('Net Zero ready'), balancing affordability with energy-efficient design to support tenant comfort and support climate action.</li><li>
<strong>Accessibility: </strong>All homes will be either accessible or meet universal design standards. This will support people with disabilities, and support seniors to age in place.<br></li><li>
<strong>Affordability: </strong>The project received funding through the BC Housing Provincial Investment in Affordable Housing Program which will help support the following levels of affordability:
<ul><li>30% of units will be set at fixed affordable rents</li><li>70% of units will be Low-End-of-Market</li></ul></li><li>
<strong>Amenities: </strong>The building will include exterior amenities spaces including a play court and community gardens as well as interior amenities spaces with a community kitchen. Common laundry is available on all floors.</li><li>
<strong>Unit features: </strong>All units will include ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, and large in-suite storage areas as well as balconies/patios, air conditioning in living rooms, and vinyl plank flooring throughout.</li> </ul><br></div> | <div class="ExternalClassA2D9DFD7E0EB49DE8FCE268CF6A8E059"><p>Metro Vancouver Housing is developing a new affordable, family-oriented, rental housing project at its property at 15245 99<sup>th</sup> Avenue in Surrey. Kingston Gardens, a 10-acre site built in 1981, currently includes 192 townhomes. This project is a redevelopment of the southwest portion of the housing site. It will replace 24 townhomes to create a four-storey apartment building with 85 homes. Homes will include a mix of sizes, with a focus on larger family units and age-friendly design to support people of all ages and abilities.<br></p><p>
<strong>Partners in Affordable Housing</strong></p><p>Metro Vancouver Housing is partnering with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) and BC Housing to deliver this project.
