<strong>Sustainability: </strong>This new LEED Gold building features a green roof, integrated storm water management, and energy and water efficient design to support tenant comfort and local climate action.</li><li>
<strong>Accessibility:</strong> All homes will be either accessible or meet universal design standards. This will support people with disabilities, and support seniors to age in place.<br></li><li>
<strong>Affordability:</strong> All homes will offer some level of affordability, with some subsidized units for lower income households (Rent-Geared-to-Income where rents are set at 30% of tenant's gross household income), and others at rented at Low-End-of-Market. </li><li>
<strong>Amenities: </strong>Indoor amenities include a community kitchen, common lounge area, and multi-purpose play court, while outdoor amenities include a kids' playground and attractive landscaped seating areas. Secure bike storage, bike repair area, car share, and mobility scooter storage are also available. </li><li>
<strong>Unit features: </strong>All units include in-suite laundry, large in-suite storage area (suitable for strollers), kitchen appliances (fridge, stove, dishwasher), vinyl plank flooring, and balconies/patios. <br></li></ul></div> | <div class="ExternalClassF8739092F77D4945AC9D596D409B1849"><p>Metro Vancouver Housing, in partnership with BC Housing, opened the first phase of an affordable rental housing redevelopment project at Heather Place, located at 773 W 14<sup>th</sup> Avenue in the City of Vancouver’s Fairview neighbourhood. The initial phase, Building A, includes 67 homes to suit a diverse population of mixed-income families, couples, singles and seniors.<br></p><p>Heather Place is located in a highly walkable area, on a safe and quiet neighbourhood street, close to a wide range of schools, parks, shops, services, and amenities along the Broadway and Cambie corridors. Less than one kilometre from the Broadway-City Hall SkyTrain Station, as well as the future Broadway subway line, the site offers easy access to transit as well as the Heather Street bikeway. Car-share located within the building provides additional transportation options for residents. <br></p><p>
<strong>Partners in Affordable Housing</strong><br>Metro Vancouver Housing partnered with BC Housing to deliver Building A. The Province contributed funds and Metro Vancouver Housing provided both funds and the land.<br> <br><strong>Building B</strong><br>A second phase of the redevelopment, Building B, is currently in the design/permitting stage with construction estimated for 2023. With Building B, Heather Place will include over 150 affordable rental homes.<br></p><ul><li>
