Work with the strata manager or property manager to manage the installation
Hire a certified electrical contractor
Ensure that you hire a certified electrical contractor to conduct any electrical work and to install the charger if you are getting a Level 2. A certified electrical contractor will arrange the proper permits and electrical inspection, and will ensure that the installation is completed to code. Use contractors that are familiar with electric vehicle charging and have experience installing chargers in apartments and townhouses.
Find a certified electrical contractor in your area.
In many cases only a small amount of electrical work will be required to accommodate Level 1 charging. Installing Level 2 charging, however, may be more involved. Your electrical contractor will be able to let you know what needs to be done to complete the install. Your electrical contractor may also be able to save you costs by preparing your building for future EV charging needs. Work with your electrical contractor to understand what your options are.
