| | Join us at the Vancouver premiere of Colleen Murphy's Governor General Award winning play, The December Man (L’homme de decembre)!
When: November 20- December 7, 2008
Where: Performance Works, Granville Island
The play, which is based on the 1989 Ecole Polytechnique tragedy, brings you into the lives of Kathleen and Benoit, the parents of one of the men ordered out of the classroom. At first the family felt lucky that their son's life was spared, but young Jean's life became unglued as he grappled with the guilt brought on by not intervening.
The December Man (L'homme de decembre), a heart breaking play leaves you speechless, and at the edge of your seat as you witness the aftermath and devastation of how a family tries to, or not to, cope with tragedy.

How do we increase actively farmed land and sustain the vitality of our farming industry? Can we improve the local food system? What strategies can we put into place? What is the role of the region? |

| | Achieving a livable and sustainable region as Metro Vancouver becomes home to 3.4 million people in the next 30 years will require continuing to create higher density communities. Much attention has been paid to the opportunities for innovation in new kinds of development, and the challenges of community and market acceptance. Where and how should higher density development be located? What can it look like, and what services are necessary to support it? What roles do consumers, communities, planners and developers play in creating higher density communities?
