It's a new year ahead with many exciting initiatives on the horizon.We recently approved additional money to acquire and protect more regional park land and have started a public consultation to address increasing complaints about odour issues across the region.Our Palisade Lake Weather Station, which provides crucial weather information for our Water Services Division, has also been updated and we are expanding the South Surrey Interceptor to meet growing sewage demands south of the Fraser. We also won an award for our regional grease Wipe It, Green Bin It campaign installation, which aims to educate residents about how to properly dispose of their kitchen oils and grease. The campaign will continue to roll out in Surrey and Richmond and hopefully help us to reduce the number of costly clogs across the sewer system.We look forward to highlighting more important events through 2018. Metro Vancouver is a federation of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services. Its core services are drinking water, wastewater treatment and solid waste management. Metro Vancouver also regulates air quality, plans for urban growth, manages a regional parks system and provides affordable housing.</div>
