Welcome to Metro Vancouver Update

<div class="ExternalClassDA615F6D647D4F239D46372C3C36CC48">Welcome to the Metro Vancouver Update, bringing you news and information from around the region. This edition features infrastructure updates from Lynn Valley, District of North Vancouver to Gilbert Road in Richmond for a look at how we are continually improving our water distribution and liquid waste collection systems. A recent visit by Federal Housing Minister Duclos is highlighted along with a report on what works in rental housing policies, an article on improving demolition materials recycling, and a great new website to take you through the steps to get an electric vehicle charging station in your building. There's also an update for those following the Seymour River rock slide, and resulting impact on the Seymour salmon run. If you want to help out our local salmon, and other local wildlife and natural areas, join in the Regional Parks Eco Blitz in October. Finally, the 6th Annual Metro Vancouver Zero Waste Conference takes plan November 3 in Vancouver - you can find registration information below. Metro Vancouver is a partnership of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans and delivers services throughout the region. Our core services are drinking water, wastewater treatment, and solid waste management – garbage and recycling. Metro Vancouver also regulates air quality, plans for urban growth, manages a regional parks system, and provides affordable housing. Metro Vancouver is governed by a Board of Directors of elected officials from each local authority.</div>
