Rural Development strategy performance measure

The uses on lands with a Rural regional land use designation are intended to be lower in density and scale in comparison to urban lands within the Urban Containment Boundary. Allowable uses include lower density residential uses and small scale commercial, industrial, institutional, and agricultural uses.

Most of the 6,000 dwelling units on lands with a Rural regional land use designation are located in Langley Township and Maple Ridge. Overall, the gross residential density is 0.7 dwelling units/hectare.
