Protecting rural landscapes helps contain growth within the Urban Containment Boundary. Lands with a Rural designation have low density residential, small scale commercial, and some agricultural, industrial, and institutional uses. However, urban levels of development are not intended for these areas and to ensure this, sewer services are not extended into these areas.
