Regional Growth context measure

Monitoring regional growth in population, jobs, and dwelling units is essential for making sure the region has the right infrastructure in place at the right time to handle demand, and for ensuring development is happening in the right locations. One of Metro Vancouver’s planning services is to prepare projections of future growth for each municipality in the region so that growth can be planned for at the local level in support of local and regional policies.

Metro 2040 vision

The region is anticipated to continue to grow by an average of 35,000 people, 18,000 dwelling units and 19,000 jobs each year.
