Waste Reduction Initiative
Country Celebration is striving to become a Zero Waste event and a leader in waste reduction. We encourage all vendors and exhibitors to help us achieve this goal. Our success is dependent on your cooperation and participation.
Here are just a few ideas on how exhibitors and vendors can help reduce waste at the event.
| Commonly used material|| Alternative|
|Plastic bags||Encourage visitors to use re-useable tote bags.|
| Promotional and educational literature ||Have display copies and encourage visitors to use the internet to access them at home.|
|Paper handouts||Be discretionary about the quantity and size of handouts you provide e.g. business cards instead of brochures. Use paper with recycled content.|
|Wrapping paper||Use newspaper and other paper packing material. Avoid the use of plastic and Styrofoam. |
|Single serve, individually wrapped candies ||Avoid excessive packaging. Try interactive low waste incentives to attract audiences such as games or prize draws. |
|Children’s craft supplies||Re-use old items rather than new e.g. off-cuts, discards, misprints and over-stock.|
