Fast Facts

Metro Vancouver delivers its services through:

  • directly-provided services, such as drinking water and wastewater treatment
  • contracted services, such as incinerator operations.

In addition to the utility services provided, the Metro Vancouver also provides emergency services, such as access to police, fire and ambulance services through the 9-1-1 call centre.

Because of a strong commitment to recycling within the region, the GVRD operates a dedicated Nutrifor Program to ensure this waste is managed safely and appropriately.
