    Financial Services provides financial expertise and high-level guidance on financial issues and management. The department's responsibilities include accounting operations and systems, budgets, business support and analysis, treasury and business processes, purchasing & risk management, fleet services and real estate services.

  • Real Estate Services

    Real Estate Services is responsible for the acquisition, administration and disposal of real estate interests for Metro Vancouver entities. The division manages over 5,000 interests in land for more than 400 facilities in connection with the regional services.
  • Purchasing, Risk Management & Fleet Services

    The Purchasing and Risk Management Division is responsible for the acquisition of all goods, services and construction for Metro Vancouver entities. The division oversees the placement of insurance and handles any related claims and manages an array of vehicles and equipment including the garage facility located at Lake City in Burnaby.
  • Treasury & Business Processes

    Treasury & Business Processes is responsible for managing and developing cash, investing and long term borrowing strategies and funding requirements for Metro Vancouver entities. It provides centralized revenue management for most of the regional functions, balancing effective collection and the needs of operating departments.  
  • Budgets, Business Support & Analysis

    ​Budgets, Business Support and Analysis is responsible for the co-ordination, analysis and monitoring of the annual operating budget and the capital budget process and associated annual, interim and variance reporting for Metro Vancouver entities. Financial Plans and Reports
  • Finance Operations & Systems

    Finance Operations & Systems is primarily responsible for processing financial transactions (accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, MVHC tenant accounts), maintaining financial systems and preparing financial statements and reports for Metro Vancouver entities.
