Each year, Lower Mainland residents and businesses generate millions of tonnes of garbage (also know as solid waste) and recyclables. We all have a role to play in reducing the volume.
To help further divert waste from our landfills, the following changes will be implemented as of July 1st, 2009, at all Metro Vancouver Transfer Station facilities:
- Loads not tied, tarped, covered or otherwise contained will not be permitted to enter the facility.
- The minimum disposal and green waste fee is changing. For additional information please see the below transfer station listings.
- A $50 minimum surcharge, plus the cost of removal, clean-up or remediation will be applied to loads containing Prohibited Materials. Further surcharges will be applied to loads containing Banned Recyclable Materials
