Renewing Existing Housing

Metro Vancouver Housing is committed to supporting our existing housing and providing safe and affordable homes for our tenants. By investing in rehabilitating existing housing sites, Metro Vancouver Housing supports quality, well-maintained housing, while increasing the sustainability of our existing housing stock.

What is building renewal?

Also called building rehabilitation or deep retrofit. This means repairing and replacing exterior components and/or building equipment to extend the lifecycle of the building (i.e., for another 30-50 years). This can generally be done without tenants having to move.
