Water Shortage Response Plan

The four-Stage Water Shortage Response Plan (WSRP) is in place to manage demand for our region’s drinking water during the summer months, and if required, during an emergency. This webpage displays the current Stage of the Water Shortage Response Plan.

CURRENT STAGE: Stage 1 Restrictions

RESIDENTIAL

Sprinkling lawns In effect: May 15 – October 15
Even numbered addresses: Mon, Wed, Sat 4 – 9 am
Odd numbered addresses: Tues, Thurs, Sun 4 – 9 am
Sprinkling new, unestablished lawnsSprinkling outside restricted times requires a municipal permit to be displayed on lawn
Watering flowers, vegetables, planters, shrubs and trees
Topping up, or filling, pools, spas, garden ponds and water features
Hosing impermeable surfaces (driveways, sidewalks, patios)
Using a pressure washer
Washing cars and boatsHose must have automatic or spring-loaded shut off nozzle

NON-RESIDENTIAL

Sprinkling lawns

Mixed-use addresses (e.g. residential and commercial), follow “non-residential” sprinkling times

In effect: May 15 – October 15
Even numbered addresses: Mon, Wed 1 – 6 am
Odd numbered addresses: Tues, Thurs 1 – 6 am
All: Fridays 4 – 9 am
Sprinkling new, unestablished lawnsSprinkling outside restricted times requires a municipal permit to be displayed on lawn
Watering flowers, vegetables, planters, shrubs and trees
Topping up, or filling, pools, spas and garden pondsIncludes hotels, clubs, gyms
Topping up, or filling, fountains and water features
Hosing impermeable surfaces (driveways, sidewalks, patios)
Using a pressure washer
Washing cars and boatsHose must have automatic or spring-loaded shut off nozzle. Includes: autobody, car dealerships, marinas
Commercial car washing
Watering golf coursesOperators should reduce water use on fairways as much as possible

GOVERNMENT/SCHOOLS

Even numbered addresses: Mon, Wed 1 – 6 am
Odd numbered addresses: Tues, Thurs 1 – 6 am
All: Fridays 4 – 9 am
