Hellings Reservoir ProjectHellings Reservoir Project<div class="ExternalClassDCD0D5ED393E460DAA5E3042186D001E"><p>To meet the growing demand for drinking water in Delta, Metro Vancouver is planning to expand the existing concrete reservoir located at 8554- 116 Street in the City of Delta, called the Hellings Reservoir.</p><p>Metro Vancouver owns and operates numerous water reservoirs across the region. This includes natural reservoirs at each of the three water sources (Capilano, Seymour and Coquitlam) that store raw water collected from our watersheds, and over 20 in-system storage reservoirs that store treated drinking water that is ready to be used by homes and businesses. </p><p>The Hellings Reservoir Project is scheduled to start construction in 2020 and includes:</p><ul><li>a new above-ground reservoir beside the existing reservoir</li><li>two underground valve chambers</li><li>a new water main that will connect the new reservoir to the regional drinking water system and three smaller underground valve chambers</li></ul></div>City of Delta

<div class="ExternalClassC60E305F4B3042EF9039BE8A427E9EBF"><p>To connect the new Hellings Reservoir to the regional drinking water system, a 0.5 metre diameter water main and three smaller valve chambers will be installed along 116 Street. This new 100-metre long water main will connect the new reservoir to the existing water main along 86 Avenue. There may be traffic impacts associated with this work. Detailed information on our traffic management plan will be shared close to construction.</p> </div>
