Weigh Scale System Features

Metro Vancouver will soon issue a Request for Proposals to procure a new weigh scale system software, to update and modernize the system and its features. This presents an opportunity to explore potential improvements to the system to increase efficiencies and convenience, and reduce the potential for errors.

Metro Vancouver continues to maintain procedures and policies to ensure that data concerning transfer station customers is protected.

This survey seeks feedback from Metro Vancouver transfer station customers with solid waste credit accounts on potential new features of the updated weigh scale system. Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this survey.

For the following potential new weigh scale system feature(s), please indicate how likely your company or organization would be to use that feature (1 is not at all likely, and 5 is extremely likely).

Use of QR codes on mobile phones instead of physical cards at the unattended scales (For those with a Metro Vancouver solid waste credit account only).
Option to have weigh scale receipts emailed rather than printed on site. Printed receipts would be available upon request (For those with a Metro Vancouver solid waste credit account only).
Online portal to view transactions (For those with a Metro Vancouver solid waste credit account only).

Metro Vancouver is also considering introducing automated licence plate recognition for both attended and non-attended scales. This would support the elimination of signature pads, increase efficiency of processing customers, and reduce the potential for human error (currently licence plate information is manually inputted).
