Coquitlam Transfer Station Replacement

Metro Vancouver is constructing a new transfer station on the former Coquitlam Landfill site by 2020 to replace the current Coquitlam Transfer Station one km away. The lease is expiring on the current transfer station. The Metro Vancouver Board approved the construction of a new transfer station to replace the existing Coquitlam Transfer Station.

Project Timeline

In 2015-2016, Metro Vancouver conducted preliminary work including concept designs, geotechnical work, and odour and traffic assessments. In 2017 Metro Vancouver will consult with interested parties and develop a detailed design. Construction is planned for 2018 and 2019, with an operation date in late 2019.

 

 

Public Engagement and Consultation

Metro Vancouver is committed to minimizing the impacts of this project on neighbouring businesses and interested residents, and maximizing benefits for transfer station users. As part of this commitment, Metro Vancouver will engage with interested parties throughout the project. Metro Vancouver will host meetings and collect feedback throughout 2017.
