Reduce, reuse and recycle

Our housing community is a leader in reducing waste. The recycling resources we created to help our residents reduce, reuse and recycle are now available to building managers throughout the region.

Help reduce your waste:

• Find out how to stop addressed junk mail.
• Opt out of receiving phone books by clicking here or calling 1-800-268-5637.
• To reduce door-to-door delivery of free newspapers, ask for a “no newspapers please” sticker from your site manager or Area Office.
• Use more of the food you buy and save up to $700 a year

Reuse comes before recycling

If someone else can use your items, sell or give them away online. We have some helpful links to get you started:

• Many local and national charities also gladly accept gently-used goods.   

If your complex has a Tenant Association, work with them to hold a community Swap Meet. It’s a great way to meet your neighbours and share what you don’t need anymore.

Or use Metro Vancouver Recycles to find places to donate or recycle your unwanted items.
