Metro Vancouver is updating its regional growth strategy, in anticipation of growth of an additional 1.2 million people and 600,000 jobs by 2040. We want to hear your views on the issues presented in Metro Vancouver 2040 – please complete this feedback - deadline for feedback is May 22, 2009.

Note: Personal information and input contained in this feedback form may be compiled with other public responses and included in a report to the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors. 1. Contain Urban Development within the Urban Containment Boundary - Metro Vancouver 2040 would establish an Urban Containment Boundary to contain where urban development will go. Growth would only be permitted within this boundary, and the boundary could only be amended by the Metro Vancouver Board.

2. Focus Growth in Urban Centres and Frequent Transit Development Corridors - Metro Vancouver 2040 proposes to focus housing and job growth within Urban Centres and Frequent Transit Development Corridors.

3. Protect the region’s supply of industrial lands - Metro Vancouver 2040 proposes protecting industrial lands through the establishment of industrial areas. These areas could only be used for industrial purposes. Exceptions would need to be approved by the Metro Vancouver Board.

4. Protect the region’s supply of agricultural land - Metro Vancouver 2040 sets out agricultural areas, to be protected as food production areas. Any changes to the use of those lands would require approval by the Metro Vancouver Board.
