NZWC AGM highlights accomplishmentsNZWC AGM highlights accomplishments<div class="ExternalClass04D7E35CAC794820BF099019E19CB3F0">​The National Zero Waste Council highlighted its 2019 accomplishments at its Annual General Meeting last month.<br><br>More than 70 members attended the AGM, in which Malcolm Brodie, appointed representative of Metro Vancouver to the National Zero Waste Council and Chair of the Council, presented updates on initiatives such as A Food Loss and Waste Strategy for Canada, Love Food Hate Waste Canada campaign, the Circular Cities and Regions Network and Plastics Advisory Panel.<br><br>Brodie also introduced the new 2019-2020 Management Board and oversaw the acclamation of James Downham, CEO of the Packaging Consortium of Canada, as Vice Chair of the Council. <br><br>The AGM included updates from the Construction, Renovation and Demolition Working Group on its wood waste projects and the Recycled Asphalt Paving (RAP) Certification Program. <br><br>Members also had the opportunity to share ideas regarding the acceleration of transitioning to a Circular Canada with four international leaders: Harald Friedl (Circle Economy), Nolween Foray (Ellen MacArthur Foundation), Brendan Edgerton (World Business Council for Sustainable Development), and Kari Herlevi (Finnish Innovation Fund, Sitra), who had earlier participated in the 2019 Zero Waste Conference.<br><br>The discussion provided those involved in the circular economy to leverage the speakers’ experiences and strategies as they pursue opportunities in the Canadian context. <br><br></div>http://www.metrovancouver.org/metroupdate/PublishingImages/issue58-nzwc.jpg2019-11-30T08:00:00ZGP0|#4c54c904-8f19-40a9-907a-6bf7a79cf92c;L0|#04c54c904-8f19-40a9-907a-6bf7a79cf92c|Issue 58;GTSet|#d14ffe11-45dc-48fb-8684-ff109cf15a74<div class="ExternalClass4F7FC1436F2A47FF8442E4DF00B3146D">​The National Zero Waste Council highlighted its 2019 accomplishments at its Annual General Meeting last month.<br></div>0
