Are you unsure of how to find out if a multi-family building has EV charging, or if it doesn’t, how to get EV charging installed in your condo? In the fall of 2016, Metro Vancouver launched <a href="http://www.evcondo.ca/" target="_blank">EVcondo.ca</a>. This website helps current or future EV owners, strata councils and property managers walk through the typical steps in getting EV charging installed in strata buildings. </p><p>A key feature of the website is the <a href="/services/air-quality/climate-action/transportation-programs/ev-strata-condo/strata-council-managers/strata-registry/Pages/default.aspx" target="_blank">EV Friendly Registry</a>, an online map displaying buildings in Metro Vancouver that have EV charging infrastructure. The online map is crowd-sourced, meaning property managers, strata councils and resident EV enthusiasts can go to the website and <a href="/services/air-quality/climate-action/transportation-programs/ev-strata-condo/strata-council-managers/strata-registry/Pages/Register.aspx" target="_blank">register</a> to help promote their “EV-friendly” building. Starting with a just a handful of buildings in the fall, the registry now includes several dozen across the region, with more being added regularly.</p><p>With electric vehicles becoming more popular in Metro Vancouver, many developers are anticipating the need for EV charging and putting in place the infrastructure to accommodate EVs. Realtors are also recognizing this need and starting to advertise charging as an amenity. The registry has already identified some exciting and innovative properties, some including EV chargers in every parking stall.
