A new entrance and queuing lanes and a brand new expanded recycling depot opened January 2, 2017.

The new entrance features four new queuing lanes for residential customers and two lanes dedicated to commercial customers. The expanded queuing lanes eliminate the need for a separate queuing yard across the street. A new automated scale allows commercial account holders to swipe in and out quickly. Traffic control personnel are on site during the transition to direct traffic to the new entrances for garbage drop-off and recycling drop-off.

An expanded recycling depot is now incorporated into the transfer station facility on the east side of Riverside Drive. The recycling depot has its own separate entrance, so those dropping off recycling only can do so without lining up in the transfer station queue. Most recycling can be dropped off at no cost.
