Join the Regional Parks Ecoblitz Oct 15 to 23Join the Regional Parks Ecoblitz Oct 15 to 23<div class="ExternalClass0C66A3D2B97846C79F05D1CBAFE32335"><p>​EcoBlitz is a week-long regional parks stewardship extravaganza where work parties meet up to pull out weeds, plant trees and shrubs, take care of local ecosystems and hang out with other people who also love regional parks. </p><p>Running from Saturday, October 15 to Sunday, October 23, over 20 work parties will meet in 13 different regional parks and get to work. EcoBlitz week is capped off with a celebratory planting and barbeque at Surrey Bend Regional Park on Sunday, October 23. </p><p>As a volunteer, you can choose hands-on stewardship activities from planting up new wetlands in Kanaka Creek or Campbell Valley Regional Parks to planting conifer seedlings as part of a new forest at Aldergrove Regional Park. </p><p>You can also take part in restoration planting in areas of Burnaby Lake and Tynehead Regional Parks where groups such as the Burnaby Lake Park Association and the Evergreen Foundation have been diligently removing invasive plants for years.
