Cultural grants awardedCultural grants awarded<div class="ExternalClass0CF11F4CCB2F443EA2923D91CEE19867"><p>Annually the Metro Vancouver Board awards a total of $100,000 in cultural grants to region‐serving arts and cultural organizations.</p><p>The Regional Culture Sub‐Committee reviews applications and recommends award amounts for eligible organizations, with the final decision coming from the Metro Vancouver Board. In allocating the Cultural Grants Metro Vancouver considers the continuing support of recipients who have made a long standing commitment to serving the region, while fostering the efforts of new recipient organizations who have committed to expanding to a regional audience.</p><p>The 90 applications were of a very high calibre, reflecting a variety of arts and culture disciplines, and showed strong regional representation. The Board approved grants to 24 community arts and culture organizations representing 11 Metro Vancouver member municipalities. Thirteen organizations were first time recipients. </p><p>A few of the recipients includes; North Vancouver Community Arts Council, VocalEye Descriptive Arts, and the African Stages Association of BC.
