Last year was Metro Vancouver’s first time coordinating a series of events on Canada’s Parks Day, and it was a huge success! Over 1,000 people joined the celebration, including 130 volunteers who stepped up to host events and even spent the day pulling invasive weeds.

This year, Metro Vancouver in cooperation with our Regional Park Partners and volunteers has free activities for all ages that focus on connecting people with nature. Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 16, and try something new: become a forest detective to help solve a mystery in Pacific Spirit Regional Park; get up close and personal with marine creatures in Belcarra Regional Park; watch for fluttering bats as they emerge at dusk in Colony Farm Regional Park; hunt for bugs in Burnaby Lake Regional Park; learn about the
Bear Necessities in Kanaka Creek Regional Park; or find about hiking safely in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. Find
