GLOBE 2016, March 2 to 4GLOBE 2016, March 2 to 4<div class="ExternalClassFF6EC2437F81450CAC85BAE650D3AB14"><p> <em>The most transactional sustainability event in the world</em>: that is the vision for GLOBE 2016, and once again Metro Vancouver will be there, as an exhibitor at the Innovation Expo, and with the National Zero Waste Council's workshop on the circular economy.</p><p>At the Innovation Expo, over 250 exhibitors focus on <em>the solutions economy in action</em>. The exhibit will include</p><ul><li>Some of Metro Vancouver's current initiatives</li><li>Integrated resource recovery from utilities (recapturing heat and resources from our own utilities), and</li><li>the National Zero Waste Council, of which Metro Vancouver is a founding member.</li></ul><p>Looking for a workshop with local and national appeal? Further to the National Zero Waste Council's standing-room only workshop at last year's GLOBE conference, the Council will be convening a high-powered panel to explore how waste-prevention is leveraging innovation – and paying significant dividends – for businesses as well as governments – not to mention boosting sustainability and addressing climate change.</p><p> <a href="" target="_blank">The workshop</a>, titled <em>Industrial Revolution 4.0: Scaling innovation to profit (and prevent waste) in the emerging circular economy</em> will dwell on how rethinking products and processes with waste prevention in mind allows businesses to tap into lucrative new markets where materials and resources are kept in use for as long as possible and durability, disassembly and sharing are mainstreamed.</p><p> <em>The National Zero Waste Council is a Canada-wide leadership initiative with a mission to act collaboratively with business, government and the community, at the national and international level, as an agent of change for waste prevention and reduction in the design, production and use of goods.
