They connect multiple regional parks, communities and other important natural areas and protect ecosystem services.</strong></p><p>This dataset was created to support development of the <em>Regional Greenways 2050</em> plan approved by the MVRD Board November 27th, 2020. The plan describes the region's shared vision for a network of recreational multi-use paths for cycling and walking that connects residents to large parks, protected natural areas and communities to support regional livability.</p><p><a href="/services/parks/learn/plans-and-reports/regional-greenways-2050/Pages/default.aspx">Regional Greenways 2050 Plan</a><br></p><p>Based on municipal planning information and shared GIS data sourced from contributing partner plans including: TransLink (Major Bike Network), Experience the Fraser Project, The Great Trail, municipal jurisdictions, and agencies of other orders of government. <br></p></div>
