Welcome!http://www.metrovancouver.org/metroupdate/issue-49/680/Welcome!Welcome!

In this issue, we highlight upcoming projects, such as our work to develop a management plan for Grouse Mountain Regional Park and a new source control bylaw to help hospitals in the region reduce pollutants entering our sewer system.

We are also seeing increased uptake by residents to reuse, reduce, recycle – leading to increased waste diversion rates across the region. Residents are also taking advantage of the region's Watershed Tours, where they can explore and visit our unique watersheds — Capilano, Seymour and Coquitlam — and learn how our world class water gets from the mountains to their taps. The tours are just a small part of the great work going on at Metro Vancouver.

To see what else is going on, check out our latest videos, which look at everything from salmon in Pacific Spirit Regional Park to the Coquitlam Transfer Station.

Metro Vancouver is a federation of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services. Its core services are drinking water, wastewater treatment and solid waste management. Metro Vancouver also regulates air quality, plans for urban growth, manages a regional parks system and provides affordable housing.

Read more...Welcome0 0
