Current initiatives include feedback on the Trans Mountain Expansion Project, a presentation to the CRTC in support of community television, and Metro Vancouver Board Chair Greg Moore’s presentation to the Vancouver Board of Trade on a vision for a livable region. </p><p>This edition introduces new green infrastructure resources, provides an update on our solid waste tipping fees, and invites you to register for a winter watershed tour – on snowshoes. Or if you are dreaming of spring, look ahead to April for the official opening of the new Surrey Bend Regional Park. </p><p>Many people felt the earthquake December 29, 2015. <a href="http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/safety/emergency-preparedness-response-recovery/preparedbc" target="_blank">Emergency Management BC</a> has great information on preparedness. Earthquake Immediate Response Plan</a> (2015). Metro Vancouver works continuously to upgrade and design our infrastructure for an earthquake or other emergency situation.</p><p> </p><p> <em>Metro Vancouver is a partnership of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services.
